Idabel’s Jabari Threadgill Athlete Spotlight Presented by Mandy Knowles Shelter Insurance

In the world of basketball, few players possess the drive and determination of Jabari
Threadgill, a standout athlete at Idabel High School. With his unwavering commitment to
the game, Threadgill has achieved remarkable growth and inspired by his supportive
teammates.
When asked about his favorite coach, Threadgill points to Coach Q, who has played a
pivotal role in his basketball career. “He helped me change my game a lot, from shooting
and defense to ball handling,” Threadgill said. The impact of a great coach can never be
understated, and Coach Q’s guidance has transformed Threadgill into a well-rounded
player.


Teammates often become more than just fellow players; they become like family. Threadgill
is fortunate to have a teammate, Cordavious Hankins, who motivates him daily during
practice. Their mutual support strengthens the team’s bond and pushes them to excel.
In the classroom, Threadgill’s favorite teacher is Mrs. Farley. He appreciates her warmth
and positive demeanor, which brightens his day.
Threadgill’s commitment to his sport shines through in his offseason preparations. He’s
honed his skills, with a particular focus on improving his shooting.
Basketball isn’t just about winning games; it imparts valuable life lessons. “It has taught me
to be a hard worker,” Threadgill said. He believes that the work he puts into his game is a
reflection of the effort required to succeed in life.
Reflecting on his basketball journey, Threadgill’s favorite memory is the near miss of
reaching the state tournament last year. It’s a testament to the camaraderie and dedication
of his team.
This season, Threadgill has set high goals. He aims to secure a state championship, both for
himself and his team.
When asked about the matchup he’s most looking forward to, Threadgill singles out the
team they face on the path to the state championship.
As for the future, Threadgill has his sights set on college, where he plans to pursue a degree
in engineering. With his passion for basketball and a bright academic future, Jabari
Threadgill is undoubtedly a rising star both on and off the court.
