Wright City’s Kyler Knox – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Pine Cellular

By Ember McElrath

Kyler Knox, a senior athlete at Wright City High School, takes having good character very seriously.

“Good character means a lot to me,” said Kyler. “I want everyone to know they can count on me to be a class act and I want everyone to know that I am there for them through any obstacle or situation.”

Playing center on the basketball team and outfield this spring in baseball, Kyler stays active.

“Sports have helped me build unbreakable friendships over the years,” Kyler said. “Sports have taught me life lessons, built character, and helped shape me into the man I am today with good morals.”

Sports are not the only thing that is important to Kyler.

“I focus on keeping good grades at school and staying out of trouble,” Kyler said. “ I believe it is important to keep up with my school work but still have fun on the court or field.”

Kyler believes in constantly giving everything and everyone his all.

“I give 110 percent until I can do no more,” said Kyler. “I believe it is important for me to stay in a good mood and that helps keep me going.”

Kyler makes a point to be the best version of himself he can be on and off the field.

“I am an overall awesome guy,” said Kyler. “I am easy going, nice, and I want to leave the best impression on everybody.”

His inspiration to be the best man possible comes from the influence of great people close to Knox.

“I look up to my parents and elders as the ones who taught me how to be a man and shape me into the person I am today,” Kyler said. “They are inspiring to me.”

In his free time Kyler enjoys the great outdoors by hunting, fishing, and hiking. He also makes a point to spend time with his friends and family.

After high school Kyler plans on attending OSUIT and earning a degree in instrumentation engineering.
